THE FIRST INTERMODAL TRAIN SET OFF ON ITS JOURNEY!

Exactly 20 years ago, PCC Intermodal formed its first intermodal train at the terminal in Brzeg Dolny.
The train from Brzeg Dolny to the VGN terminal in Świnoujście carried P&O Nedlloyd containers.

The first shippers to express interest in the new connection were chemical plants of PCC Rokita and Cargill. The train, manned by a team of PCC Kolchem drivers, was pulled by a BR 232 diesel locomotive.

This was the beginning of the PCC Intermodal great dream coming true. A regular, dense network
of intermodal connections was born. A dream that – thanks to the work of a well-coordinated team*, EU funds**, the trust of its first customers and finally, enormous determination and consistency –
was put into operations and brought a great success.

Today, PCC Intermodal SA is the leading intermodal operator in Poland. It organises over 6,000 container trains annually. Its network of connections covers not only the most important regions in the country, but also many foreign destinations, including Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ukraine. The operator manages the most modern intermodal terminals in Europe and is planning further investments in Pomerania region and the east wall of the country. The company is a licensed rail carrier and has a fleet of modern locomotives, wagons, chasiss, cars and 45 ft HC PW containers.
