Transport of containers
Intermodal services
As a part of our intermodal service, we offer a quality door-to-door container cargo delivery.
We provide our clients with:
- documentation and customs support for ongoing supply chains;
- containers for loading;
- rail deliveries based on network of regular daily train services;
- safe and secured transshipments;
- additional technical services at terminals;
- first and last mile road deliveries.
We understand intermodal as a comprehensive service for the delivery of containerised cargo, where rail is used for long distance and road is used for the first and/or last mile of the delivery only. In addition to the two modes of transport, this logistics model requires a loading unit: the container plus a transshipment terminal as a link between rail and road. In our understanding, transport by rail in the intermodal model is based on a regular network of connections, where any shipper, large or small, can take the advantage of the solution, while ‘buying a ticket and on-boarding’ his containerised cargo. The train chosen is the one that fits best to the path of the cargo supply chain desire. Intermodal transport is accompanied by a range of supporting services like:
- documentation and customs services;
- cleaning, taping, sweeping containers;
- heating, cooling;
- dangerous goods management;
- monitoring of supply chain;
- etc.
Additional services
As part of its operations, PCC Intermodal provides a range of additional services.
PCC terminals are open 24/7, the facility is available to the public.
At the terminals, apart from the basic activity, which is container handling, additional services indicated in detail in the tariffs are provided on equal terms for all market entities.
The intermodal terminals of PCC Intermodal SA are fully recognised by the Customs Office as Temporary Storage Warehouses, which, in special situations, allows customers to take advantage of their rights to settle customs duties in the process of transport in a date deferred by 90 days.
Container trains, operated by licensed carriers, can enter the transhipment terminals and use its facility according to the given rules. The operator provides current tariffs, terms and conditions for its services and facilities to be used in the download tab.
